As the existing maintenance provider for Belfairs school we were asked by Skanska who were the original contractor to carry out some remedial works which had arisen from the original air conditioning installation.
Over Heating Air Handling Unit
There was an issue with hot extract air from a local Air Handling Unit (AHU) and also 7 external AC condensers pushing hot air into the intake area of another AHU this was causing an over-temperature issue on the AHU.
With Skanska we designed a baffle wall which will deflect the hot air away and prevent temperature issues, in the 1st instance we installed a wooden wall which had an unstructured frame for support. Once this has been in for 2 weeks it will then be assessed and if worked the wood will be replaced with metal as a permanent fixture.
