Firstly, we like the Zappi charger for its easy to use features for EV charging in the most economic way. Secondly, the competitively priced Zappi does compromise on the build quality and three charging modes.
- Eco
This mode minimises the use of grid power. The EV charging power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power being used elsewhere in the home.
Charging will be at a constant 1.4kw and will continue until the vehicle is fully charged, even if power is drawn from the grid.
- Eco+
Charge power is continuously adjusted in response to changes in generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Your electric car charging will pause if there is too much-imported power, continuing only when there is surplus free power available.
- fast
In this mode, the vehicle will be charged at maximum power. This power can come from a renewable energy source or simply from the grid.
If you don’t have solar panels or wind generation, zappi will charge just like an ordinary Mode 3 charging point.
When you choose an electric vehicle it may be for long term cost-saving or being environmentally friendly. You can take this further generating your power from solar or wind system as the zappi EV charger can integrate these.
